Date: 29 Sep 2009 Comments: 0

Are you promoting your own product or are you an affiliate of someone else’s program? Either way, you will need content for all your promotional marketing needs.

There are several ways you can get this content.

1) create it yourself
2) hire others to create it for you
3) use feeds from various services
4) use readily available materials from article directories
5) grab PLR

Let’s look at each of these promotional marketing aids and go in-depth with each one in separate posts.

Create it yourself

This might be difficult if you are not used to writing or perhaps if you do not have English as your native language. If you do have the required skills, you can put together articles and info products yourself. It requires work, however, because if you do not know the topic, you’ll have to research it. Once you gather the research, putting together your article or product is relatively simple.

Hire others to create it for you

This can be iffy because until you see the results, you can’t know whether the writer you choose is capable of producing the quality you desire. There are ways to find good ghostwriters that you can read about in another post on the topic.

Use feeds from various services

Basically, feeds are material merchants and others provide to people who are selling their products. These feeds contain automatically-changing content so that your site stays fresh. This is great as far as search engines and your visitors are concerned. You simply put the script for the feed on your site and the system does the rest.

Use readily available material from article directories

Article directories love to have you take the content that their members have submitted and use it on your site. The only stipulation is that you cannot change it or the resource box that the author and the article directory has provided. But you can create links to the product you want to promote using specific keywords that are in the article.

Grab PLR content

PLR can be a problem for a number of reasons. You don’t really know what you’re getting until you download and open the product. Much of it is garbage, written in broken English and just not good content. A lot is rehashed material that offers nothing new or unique. It’s important to make sure that the source of your PLR is reliable and that you are guaranteed of receiving fresh material.

If you need content for your site, blog or to submit to various sites to get back links to your product offers, these are the options that are available to you.

Later, we’ll talk more about each of these so that you have a good idea which might serve your needs best.
